Hive

New illustration style and library, and refreshing all illustrations in-line with a rebrand.

I was brought into Hive to create a library of illustrations for use across the entire Hive brand. Although some illustrations existed in-app, they were inconsistent and lacked the warmth they needed to deliver. I worked closely with the Hive designers to answer the brief and develop a unique style of illustrations. I built these into Figma components so that the product designers could easily access assets and switch them as needed in their designs. The illustrations were a success and were used across both web, app and social outputs.

During my time as a perm designer with Hive, the brand underwent a rebrand. This meant the illustration style needed to be updated to sit in-line with the new brand positioning. I worked closely with Pentagram to develop an illustration style that was both functional and beautiful - working for both their vision and our needs as product designers. This resulted in two illustration styles: an informative and an emotive style. During the following months, I single handedly updated hundreds of visuals with new illustrations, and new icons, and continue to be the lead designer on illustrations at Hive.
